Simple rules for a peaceful stay
House Rules
No Smoking | No loud noises | Dispose of garbage responsibly| See Details ...
*Violations may incur severe fines and penalties that may be deducted from your deposit.
Our quiet hours are from 10 pm to 7 am daily. Always, and especially during Quiet Hours, please conduct your indoor and outdoor activities in a prudent and respectful manner that will not disturb our neighbors. This includes noise from entertainment, sound systems, and use of machinery or other equipment.
Smoking restrictions: As a matter of fire safety and public health: Smoking of any material by any means is prohibited anywhere on the property, including the garden, verandah, and common areas such as the stairs, elevator, and lobby. When smoking out on the street, please maintain a 25 foot distance from the main entrance.
No Shoes: To ensure we keep the floorboards squeaky clean for our guest's enjoyment, we have a no-shoes policy inside our home. We like to think of it as bringing the beach to the house (only without the sand!)
Recycling and garbage disposal: Garbage is picked up 3 to 5 times a week between 11 pm and 1 am. We recommend that you take recyclables such as glass, plastic, and paper items to the recycling bins across the street as Rua Washington turns up the hill. The color of the bins or their decals signifies their purpose. [Click here to know more about garbage collection days.]
YELLOW is for plastic (plastic bottles etc.) and metal
GREEN is for glass (bottles should be uncapped)
BLUE is for paper and cards (newspapers, magazines, cardboard boxes etc).
GREY is for non-recyclable, non-hazardous household waste.
BROWN is for organic waste (when not available, organic waste goes in the grey bins).
When Grey or Brown bins are available, please deposit non-recyclable, non-hazardous household waste in the smaller portable green/grey colored bins immediately outside the building door.
No Pets: We observe a no-pets policy irrespective of how well-behaved, trained or hypoallergenic your pet is.
Service Animals: Please contact us if you need to be accompanied by a Service animal. Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Examples of such work or tasks include guiding people who are blind, alerting people who are deaf, pulling a wheelchair, alerting and protecting a person who is having a seizure, reminding a person with mental illness to take prescribed medications, calming a person with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) during an anxiety attack, or performing similar duties. We treat service animals as working animals and not pets. The work or task a dog has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person's disability. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals.
Privacy and Trespassing: We urge you to respect the protected and private spaces within the building, even when the doors are ajar, unless you have explicit permission from the residents of the apartment.
Monitor Children: The house is set up more for adults than children. We request that children under 12 years be under adult supervision at all times.
No guests other than those on the reservation: We appreciate your desire to share your joy and even welcome you to invite friends over for a casual drink or dinner. However, we request that you avoid any overnight guests other than those on the reservation. Failure to do so, may incur additional guests fees being deducted from your deposit.
Accidental damage: We understand that accidents happen. So we ask that you please let us know when they do. Chances are we can fix them as effortlessly as possible, which also means better chances of having your full security deposit returned to you too.
